Old Bridge, NJ – March 22, 2019 – The Old Bridge Public Library will offer special programs with an international flare in April on Pysanky egg decorating and South American matés.
Pysanky: The Art of Ukrainian Egg Decorating: Sunday, April 7th at 2pm. A pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg decorated with traditional folk designs using a wax-resistant method. Local artist Olga Kobryn will explain the methods, symbols and colors used in this ancient art. She will also demonstrate the craft and share examples of beautiful pysanky she has created.
Matés of Argentina: Sunday, April 14 at 2pm. Maté is an herbal tea popular in Argentina and other South American countries. Argentina native Patricia Munoz will present this informative session, speaking about the benefits of maté along with its rituals and ceremonies. Participants will learn the proper ways to prepare the tea and will enjoy “maté-cocido” together. Registration is necessary by calling 732-721-5600 x5033 or online at www.oldbridgelibrary.org.
