Old Bridge, NJ – Oct. 7, 2016 – The Old Bridge Public Library will offer three valuable business-related programs to patrons this month.

First on Tues. Oct. 11th, there will be a Wills, Estates and Trusts program at 1pm. Local attorney Ken Vercammen returns to the Library to discuss various legal aspects of these documents and strategies and will clarify the various benefits of estate planning choices. Vercammen is admitted to practice in NJ and Federal District Court and is Managing Attorney of a full service law practice with offices in Edison and Cranbury. He previously served as Prosecutor for the Township of Cranbury, NJ and currently serves as Editor of the NJ Municipal Court Law Review. He was named Middlesex County Bar Association Municipal Court Attorney of the Year in 2008.

A session entitled, “Good Reason to Hate Taxes: the Real History of the US Tax System” will be presented on Thurs. Oct. 20th at 7pm. Tax attorney and CPA Richard Price will examine issues such as who is responsible for the tax system, how eliminating a tax can actually increase an individual’s tax bill, and how politicians can influence the tax system.  A question and answer session will follow. Mr. Price was a former tax executive with the world’s largest CPA firm, specializing in complex tax transactions, before opening his own practice 20 years ago.  He is also a licensed attorney, and has represented clients in both US and NJ tax courts.  Mr. Price holds an MBA, JD, and LL.M. (in Taxation).  He frequently teaches professional education courses for CPAs.

Lastly, the Library will offer a seminar on “Starting Your Own Business” on Thurs. Oct. 27th from 10am-3pm. The in-depth program, presented by a representative from the NJ Division of Taxation, will cover the following topics: types of business ownership, the registration process, reporting business income and understanding the sales and use tax. The presenter will be available for questions, and registration is required at www.oldbridgelibrary.org or by calling 732-721-5600 x5033.
