Old Bridge, NJ – July 9, 2018 – The Old Bridge Public Library will offer two educational and entertaining Shakespearean programs over the next several weeks.
On Saturday, July 21st at 2pm, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will present a one-hour performance entitled, “Shakespeare Gumbo.” A four-member ensemble will bring to life the joy, wit, poetry and music from a collection of Shakespeare’s great body of work, as well as from some of the works that his plays have inspired over the centuries. The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is the state’s largest professional theatre company dedicated to the presentation of Shakespeare’s canon and other classic dramas. A teaching theatre, it integrates education into all their endeavors, while promoting literacy and a culture of enlightenment.
Additionally, the Hudson Shakespeare Company returns to the Library on Thursday, August 2nd at 7pm to present, “All’s Well that Ends Well.” One of the Bard’s “problem plays,” it will be presented as a costume drama in a Jane Austin setting, a comedy of wits and manipulation, clowns and kings. The Hudson Shakespeare Company is a regional theatrical touring company based in Jersey City, NJ, that produces an annual summer Shakespeare in the Park festival and offers a variety of theatrical productions and educational programs in libraries, parks, schools and other venues throughout the state.
Attendees are requested to bring a non-perishable, unexpired donation for the Old Bridge Food Pantry to these free events.
