Old Bridge, NJ –  May 3, 2019 – The Old Bridge Public Library will host a wide array of interactive events for children this month. All events are free and open to the public; some programs require registration as noted.

Sensory Storytime: Fri. May 10th @6pm. Sensory Spring Fling: Fri. May 17th @6pm. These sessions provide opportunities for kids with special needs to improve social play and develop their fine motor skills by investigating and exploring sensory stations.  The May 10th program will begin with a special storytime, with open play to follow. The spring fling session will celebrate the season with hands-on activities and crafts. Siblings are welcome and caregivers must stay with their children. 

Drop-In Mother’s Day Craft: Sun. May 12th from 12-4pm. Kids of all ages are welcome to create special paper flower crafts in honor of Mother’s Day.

Maker Monday: Seed Bombs: Mon. May 13th @7pm. A seed bomb is a mixture of clay, compost and flower seeds. The bombs germinate after rainfall, sprouting beautiful flowers in previously uninhabited places. Tweens in grades 4-6 are invited to make seed bombs to take home and then plant in special places.  Registration required by calling 732-721-5600 x5033 or at www.oldbridgelibrary.org.

Stuffed Animal Check-up: Sat. May 18th @2:30pm.  The Library will set up a special animal clinic where kids can bring their favorite stuffed animal for a check-up.  They’ll move from station to station and have their furry friends’ height, weight, heartbeat, eyes, and ears examined. 

Memorial Day Scavenger Hunt: Sun. May 26th from 12-4pm. Celebrate Memorial Day with a special scavenger hunt. Stop in and win small prizes for those who find all the hidden images.

The Old Bridge Public Library has consistently been voted one of the three Best Public Libraries in Middlesex County by the readers of the Home News Tribune.
