Old Bridge, NJ – January 9, 2018 – The Old Bridge Public Library is hosting two unique programs this month to help pass the cold winter months with creativity and the arts.

On Saturday, Jan. 20th at 2pm, there will be a “Then, Now and Forever: Life Story Workshop” hosted by Donna Atkins, aka The Life Story Lady.   This session will provide helpful tips for people interested in creating a written record of their life experience to share with family and friends. It will provide motivation to get started through inspiring examples, guided exercises and constructive feedback. It will trigger creativity and allow attendees to enjoy the satisfying experience of committing their life journey to paper.  Atkins is an award-winning communications specialist who has spent many years working with individuals, groups and organizations on narrative and storytelling skills.

Then, on Sunday, Jan. 21st at 2pm, the Library will offer a nostalgic program entitled Movie Musicals of the 1940s. Movie musicals grew in popularity during the war-weary decade of the 1940s.  Sam and Candace Caponegro will present an interesting and entertaining overview of 1940s musicals through film clips and discussion. They’ll examine favorites such as Easter Parade, Meet Me in St. Louis and Stormy Weather.  The Caponegros regularly teach and lecture at Rutgers College of Continuing Education, libraries, and community centers.
