Old Bridge, NJ – Aug. 23, 2018 – The Old Bridge Public Library will offer special programs highlighting the Beatles, cats and unique New Jersey natives in September. Registration is not required for any of these sessions.

Tips for a Happy Cat:  Wednesday, September 12th @6pm.  In recognition of September being Happy Cat Month, the Library will welcome staff from Matawan Animal Hospital to share valuable information and helpful tips on how to keep cats happy and healthy.

The Beatles: The ‘Beaginnings’: Saturday, September 15th @2pm. Scotch Plains resident and Liverpool native Paul Groom will present this program on the Fab Four’s early years, before they became world-famous, and their rise from obscurity to international stardom from his unique perspective. The program will include song clips from The Quarrymen, the rock ‘n’ roll group formed by John Lennon, which eventually evolved into the Beatles. In addition, Groom will explore the group’s family trees and social statuses.               

NJ Originals Author Linda Barth: Sunday, September 16th @2pm.  Author Linda J. Barth visits the Library to discuss her book, New Jersey Originals: Technological Marvels, Odd Inventions, Trailblazing Characters and More. She will speak about New Jersey’s interesting characters, innovators and inventors. Barth, a retired teacher, has enjoyed a second career as a writer specializing in New Jersey history, and has published eight books about the Garden State.

The Old Bridge Public Library has consistently been voted one of the three Best Public Libraries in Middlesex County by the readers of the Home News Tribune.
